I’ll admit it was my first time watching an anime program/show, and, judging from the links you provided, the women are not typical women. Why are all the women ridiculously skinny? Ironically they all have rather large busts covered in seductive leather belly-baring shirts, and on their feet many wear shiny leather high-top boots. Why can’t women be conservative and still kick ass? This show is teaching girls that women CAN be heroes and do great things, but it’s also reiterating the idea the media has that women are sex symbols. I’m so sick of seeing women portrayed as skinny and with big breasts. I like the fact that many of the characters have different colored hair and eye colors- they aren’t all blonde with blue eyes. Girls see these awesome characters on TV and can relate because at least ONE character will somewhat resemble them. I think it’s absolute nonsense that America cut the “gay” anime. Not everyone in the world is straight, and we should be teaching children from a young age that it is not up to us to judge. We should be accepting and love people for who they are, not what they believe or whom they love. By the way, I love how you provided so many links and so much information!!!</content><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/8524405095975317750/3827025204922674994/comments/default/2830817902201246549'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/8524405095975317750/3827025204922674994/comments/default/2830817902201246549'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://emilyhavelka.blogspot.com/2008/09/sailor.html?showComment=1222793640000#c2830817902201246549' title=''/><author><name>Katie Minard</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/07725192688540881261</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email></author><thr:in-reply-to xmlns:thr='http://purl.org/syndication/thread/1.0' href='http://emilyhavelka.blogspot.com/2008/09/sailor.html' ref='tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8524405095975317750.post-3827025204922674994' source='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/8524405095975317750/posts/default/3827025204922674994' type='text/html'/></entry></feed>
